4 March 2015 at 12:17AM. Hi All, Had a new clutch fitted two days ago, on a Citroen Xsara, and then the next day I noticed a oil leak coming from the drive shaft, there was a patch of oil about the size of a football on the ground. Ceed 3 CRDI Clutch PROBLEM (5000MILES+) Problem started at 5,000miles on a one year old car from factory. It is an intermittent noise when I pull away and at the biting point when lifting the clutch pedal. I ignored it for a while thinking it was a teething fault but now at 6,000miles it has become more noticeable.
I have an 08 reg Ceed with 135000 on the clock. Had a mechanic do an oil change for me, he tells me I'll need the clutch replacing. Quoted me over £300 is that a reasonable price? I have a bit of clutch slip , but the majority of the time no problems getting into gear, only very occasionally do i crunch a gear.
