The cavernous boot in the S-MAX provides more than 2,000 litres of space when all of the rear seats are removed or folded flat. Ford supplies a space-saver spare on diesel models in case of a
I think Focus tends to have better absorption of small bumps than C-Max - presumably the spring rate is different to stop the taller C-Max flopping about in the bends. The Focus hatch is certainly a slightly better drive. Reply | Report as offensive | Link. Sun 5 Jun 2011 17:59.
It’s an SUV -inspired, slightly more rugged version of the Ford Focus Estate. What that translates to is some aggressive-looking bumpers, black plastic cladding around the sills and arches, roof rails, and a slightly raised ride height, thanks to bigger tyres and a different suspension from the ‘normal’ car.
Had Ford thought about things they'd have made it a few more inches longer, wider and taller, started with a 1.5 tdci, fitted better stiffer springs (for load carrying) and offered a 4x4 version they'd have got a winner, as it is it's ok for a family of 4, but don't take too many suitcases, as for 2 Lab's, only if they are puppies.

Comparing prices like-for-like with the Astra doesn’t quite work due to Ford pausing factory orders of the Focus, but for reference the Astra officially starts at £24,315 for the entry-level Design model, rising to £27,210 for the sporty looking GS Line, and £30,325 for the posh Ultimate. The plug-in hybrid, meanwhile, starts at £32,700.

The Ford Focus estate is outclassed on boot space with the seats up or down – its maximum volume of 1,502 litres looking rather measly next to the similarly-priced Skoda Octavia’s 1,740 litres.
